Client Review – Microdermabrasion

Here at Simply Be Skincare, I love hearing feedback from my clients about how they have benefitted from their treatments. I am delighted to share this review from the lovely Eve, who visited my Maidstone salon.

In her early twenties, Eve is proof that it is important to look after your skin early and I have no doubt if she continues to care for her skin, she will continue to have fantastic looking skin.

Eve has kindly taken the time to write about her first ever Microdermabrasion treatment at my salon in Maidstone. If you are interested in hearing how quick, simple and pain-free the microdermabrasion treatment is, read more, or Book your appointment today.

My Experience

I’m twenty three and, generally speaking, have healthy, well behaved skin with an occasional tantrum of breakouts and dryness. However, lately I noticed my skin has been growing increasingly dull and tired looking.

Glowing skin like many women is always my goal and I’ve used a myriad of products to achieve that – resulting in both duds and winners but despite my efforts, I always find myself back to the beginning.

So, in a bid to take control I decided that it was time to put my skin into the hands of a professional – Louise from Simply Be Skincare.

After a little research I decided that a microdermabrasion treatment was the way forward so I booked the appointment as a treat to myself.

Naturally, as this was my first time experiencing diamond microdermabrasion treatment I wasn’t sure quite what to expect. I had done my research and had read descriptions of the facial treatment and will admit the idea of a nozzle using an abrading technique sounded a little intimidating.I was imagining something sharp hacking into my skin but I was delighted to find the whole process was the opposite. I found my microdermabrasion treatment with Simply Be Skincare to be a completely gentle and relaxing experience.

When I first visited Louise at her salon in, the atmosphere was immediately relaxing and warming. Meditating music was murmuring in the background, a comfy couch welcomed me and the room was beautifully decorated. Thankfully my nerves didn’t last long – I could tell that Louise was an experienced and qualified skincare specialist by her professional and friendly demeanour and I felt comfortable in my decision to trust her.

First, Louise asked me to fill out a form which is pretty standard practice at most beauty treatments. I was asked If I had experienced rosacea, rashes as well as other skin complaints or conditions previously and that my general health was good. Louise explained how that a lot of people can benefit from microdermabrasion treatment, but naturally microdermabrasion is not for everyone. If I did have any issues as a result of my treatment, they would be rare but she would help support me with aftercare if needed.

Then it was time for my microdermabrasion treatment to begin

I was asked to lay on the beauty couch and make myself comfortable. There was a dip to cradle my head and Louise gently fixed a band to secure my hair away from my face. Leading such a busy life it felt unusual taking a rest during the day, certainly a well overdue treat.

What I loved most about my microdermabrasion treatment was that Louise talked me through each step throughout.

After initially cleansing my face, Louise explained that there are three different nozzles, each with a higher level of intensity that work in conjunction with each other. She alternated using them across my face, concentrating on areas such as my nose and around my mouth. Imagine it like a hoover, gently sucking up the dead skin cells and allowing your skin to naturally regenerate. I thought it would feel like a strange sensation but actually felt like a gently rubbing, not sore at all.

During the 45 minutes that the procedure took, I must have dozed off several times. It was almost too relaxing and whilst I could feel the pressure of the nozzle against my skin it wasn’t painful at all.

Once Louise was finished with the microdermabrasion tool she used her very own Simply Be Skincare collagen moisturiser across my skin, it felt refreshing and complimented the microdermabrasion treatment perfectly.

I could tell that Louise was so passionate and invested in both of her skin care businesses. She told me how she had trialled and tested each product herself in a bid to find the perfect skincare range. I love that she uses all the products herself and prioritised her ethics too. All her skincare products use natural ingredients, are cruelty free & all but two of them a vegan too.

Really impressive.

My visit to Simple Be Skincare in Maidstone as a whole took forty five minutes to an hour. When my treatment was finished I was surprised by how fresh and bright my skin immediately looked. Soft to touch and glowing, I was so pleased and I could tell Louise was also delighted with the results. Louise had told me when I had arrived that her mission was to help her clients feel happy within their own skin.

She certainly succeeded.

A couple of weeks have now passed and I am delighted to report, my skin is still happy and glowing.

I was concerned about the after effects and expected my skin to feel sore and irritated but I did not find this to be the case at all.

I can report my skin was slightly sensitive for a handful of days following my microdermabrasion treatment but it looked fantastic and was pain free.

Overall, I am pleased with how the microdermabrasion treatment went and would certainly recommend visiting Louise if you are looking for a skincare treatment.

My visit to the Simply Be Skincare salon felt self-indulgent and luxurious in the best possible way and I look forward to having another treatment again soon.

Thank you for your expertise Louise,

I thoroughly enjoyed spoiling my skin

Eve
